Are Amazon Smile AND iGive the same?iGive Member FAQs > ShoppingWe're great together! iGive plus Amazon Smile mean higher donations on your Amazon purchases (currently, Amazon is currently donating .5%, plus your cause earns .8% via iGive, for a total of 1.3%).
Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.com) is a charity donation program very similar to iGive, but they are not the same thing. They do work together wonderfully. Amazon Smile means that Amazon may send your cause money, according to their procedures and rules. And the shopping you do at Amazon via iGive means that iGive will send your cause a check.
When you use iGive to shop at Amazon, we automatically direct you to smile.Amazon.com. That gives Amazon a chance to help your cause, in addition to the help they make possible via iGive.com. Your cause needs to do whatever Amazon has asked in order to get that Amazon Smile donation, as it is separate from iGive.
Because you used iGive, your purchase at Amazon, just like at any of the 1,500+ iGive stores, means a donation for your cause.
Your cause can be instantly listed at iGive, and it doesn't have to be a 501(c)3.
Your donations at iGive stores other than Amazon may be tax deductible to you.
We provide lots and lots of tools for you to help your cause or charity, and for your group to help themselves.
Lot of transparency, reporting tools, newsletter tools, and more. You can really manage how your cause does with iGive.
More donating opportunities means larger amounts raised and checks sent to causes at a faster pace. So you could say, iGive offers you Amazon smiles, as well as Target grins, and QVC, Macy's, Walgreens...mean smiles galore with iGive!
