I think everyone was exhausted yesterday and it seemed like a pretty quiet day, thus no update) plus I crashed when it was done!
So far after feeding their horses, our campers groomed and tacked up and then rode for over an hour! Yesterday everyone worked on their reining skills so that today they could enjoy bit of bare racing! Sophie unhooked and was able to rein independently. Sophia did a great job at a sitting trot and really looking through each of her turns. Matt simply needed to get a point by to remember which barrel to go around and Amanda on her 4th ride ever is working on holding her reins. She is not quite there, but she is having fun making Garret run after rings after she tosses them! We also did a nice rain dance as we rode in the rain!
Yesterday, we learned about the parts of the horse after cleaning saddles. Today, we learned about leg wraps and boots and had fun wrapping each others legs and arms. I bet everyone will remember where the horses cannon bones, splint bones, ftlock joints, and tendons are after today!
We had so much fun with our water ballon toss and horse (and dog) painting today! Then we got to give everyone (Romney, Oreo, Kittie, and Walter) a bath!
