Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Avalon was giving me the cold shoulder. She was not happy about losing her best friend! The vet came out today but had run out of the medication that was needed to humanely euthanize Okie. So rather than do nothing, he did a steroid injection to the coffin joint to see if that would help with pain management. If it works, it could last as long as 3 or 4 months!
Dr Cohen did a pregnancy check for Dawn and she does not appear to be pregnant (nor does Honey)! That means that she just has a sore back and a bad attitude. We're going to try a bit of bute and a muscle relaxer for a few days to see if she is just anticipating pain or really has pain. I would like to try one of those tens muscle stimulators to see if that would help her. She appears to have a lot of shoulder/ wither pain or sensitivity. Honey has some low back pain. We are going to try the same treatment on her. And go figure, they both need to loose some weight. Poor girls!
