So as I have been talking to different people and connections and asking for help, Cindy Stearns said that she would help out with organizing volunteer groups.
"Wouldn't it be great if we could get everyone together to meet each other", she commented. Well of course it would. Everyone has been wanting to see the property. This would be the perfect opportunity. So it was was planned for Saturday the 17th of Sept.
Lisa Foight and her husband helped plan the event and in the end, Lisa volunteered to be our Event Planner. Watch out is all I can say! She has also been coming out and helping to condition and de-sensitize the horses. Rocky absolutely loves her.
April Oliver has been there for the get go and has volunteered to help with Volunteer Training.
Judy Moore is helping with fundraisers and then Lindsey Fetty shocked me and said she wants to help and has so many ideas for fundraising. I officially have a Fundraising Team! Judy will also be involved as my Physical Therapist to assist in screenings and evalualtions.
Melissa Fox wanted to start riding, She has been coming over to work with Rocky and help with conditioning and de-sensitizing.
She has also agreed to do grant researching.
Bill McKee is my nephew and is living in victoria for the next 2 years. He is planning on coming up a couple weekends a month to help get the property up and ready. He met Matt fox and can't wait to work woth the clients!
Tim Ray was there and has stepped up to be the board president and has done such a good job in that role.
Craig Niblett is the board vice president and partner at Elgin Large Animal Hospital. He will be assisting when the horses become Healing with Horses Ranch. 1st order of business will be to microchip the horses!
Tricia Cody is a professor and researcher at UT and has volunteered to help with a research project that will be IRB approved. So exciting!
Several of my key volunteers could not be there such as Judith Amatangelo who has floored me by volunteering to be Grants Writer. Unfortunately several of the board members could not be there such as Ron Doll, Tracee Colvin, and Catherine Bailey. Ashley Colvin is interning with me to learn how to start up a Therapeutic Riding Center.
So many wonderful people have supported me in this amzing effort. THANK YOU!
