I wanted to give everyone an update about what life is like since we moved to the ranch. If you haven't read my story about before Patty owned me, go to Meet the Horses and click on my name.. It has not been deleted. My name is Rocky and I'm an almost 26 year old Morgan Horse.
About 9 months ago, Patty started working with me. I mean, she always fed us twice a day and she groomed us and stuff, but she started being around more and more. (I think that's when she left her other job and FINALLY had time for us!)
She started doing weird things like playing with big balls around us and then noodles started appearing and bubbles, and bells, and bottles, oh my! As more and more strange things started appearing, and they didn't hurt me ever, the more I started getting curious about what new thing was going to come out next. I started having fun with it. Mom says this is called desensitizing.
New people started coming out to play too. They didn't hurt me either! First Melissa started riding me on a regular basis and then Lisa and Mark as well as Patty. I was gaining so much confidence. I really started to look forward to what was coming next.
When we moved to the ranch, I loved it. It is so relaxing here. I would lay down and was actually able to let down my mane! I'm not going to lie. It hasn't been all green pastures, but Dawn and I have bonded even more than ever. Now if strangers come out to the ranch to visit, I am one of the first to come up to the fence to meet them. I even liked it when the bulls came visiting! I am hardly ever nervous anymore!
I get to work with one student right now and I love my job. I don't always know what he wants, but I am trying really hard. Mom says that I am going to get to go to Special Olympics. That must be a show for Special Horses! I am very proud that I get to go, so wish us luck!
