We had a great day at Special Olympics. After arriving in Bryan, TX at the Brazos County Expo Center, Ashley and I schooled Rocky and Romney and then clipped and bathed them. Sharon and Bill came just in time for Sharon to learn how to braid horses mane. So being the generous soul that I am, I showed her and let her have at it! For those of you who have never braided a horses mane, it's hard. Your shoulders and fingers ache after hours of braiding and trying to move with your horse! I'm not sure that Sharon is really thrilled about her new position in the life of horse shows!
Today started out bright and early with Ashley feeding everyone, me fixing all of the braids that Romney rubbed out, and Melissa banding Rocky's mane. The horses looked great.
Anna had a great ride today. She place 4th (Ithink) in both her equitation class and her trail class. She has nevver sat up so tall and when she was in the equitation class, she had her serious game face on! It was so cool to see her really understanding that she ws in a competion and wanting to do well!
Matt struggled a bit in his trail class. Mom was his Horse Handler and I kind of think that he thought she was going to do the work for him. He was wrong! His equitation class on the other hand was fabulous. He only got 5th place, but he RODE! Rocky made him work for it for sure!
Thank you to the whole team Healing with Horses Ranch! Ashley, Rocky, Romney, Matt, Anna, Melissa, Keith, Sharon and Bill! The best thing of all is that we had FUN and supported each other so effortlessly!
