Riding has saved my life!  After coming to Healing with Horses Ranch, I am a true believer and have seen the proof that Horses Heal… Body, Mind and Soul!  It is not just a “slogan”… I have seen real results!  

At Healing with Horses Ranch, I have been taking Therapeutic Riding to strengthen my left side from a stroke which occurred five years ago.  My body has changed amazingly by developing fine motor skills, balance and core strength.  My mind has improved with better focus, concentration, planning and attention to details.

When the body that you depended on all your life suddenly stops doing what you expect it to do, you lose self-confidence, self-esteem and trust.  Being exposed to that trust, affection and love from these wonderful horses builds that self-esteem and confidence back. The horses are so in touch with your inner feelings, that they will help you strengthen any of your weaknesses.  They become your partner and soul mate! 

When the horses believe and trust in you, then you begin to do the same.  They inspire you to attempt things that you didn’t feel were possible!  I can now lead the horses and mini’s without using a walker or cane…that is quite an accomplishment!  I go on trail rides independently with the instructor walking near me.  I’m even preparing to be in a horse show…a goal that I thought unreachable!

The secret is not “just” the horses, though.   It’s the commitment and special gift that Patty has that makes this a very unique therapeutic ranch. She has a true passion for her students surrounding them acceptance and reassurance.  She treats you as having abilities not “limitations”!
