The Power of Horses to Help Heal After Assault
All that I can say is "yes, yes, and yes!" Well written article that is an easy read. This is what and why I do what I do! Conditioning team we have started our play days! They will be Sundays at 6-7:30 and Wednesdays from 7-8:30. Our goal is to get on the same page on our expectations for the horses and what there needs are and to have fun!
This week we are going back to basics on our horse schooling with the halt and leading. Know where you are going and go there and whoa! Elyse, Lori, Victoria, and Emily came out on Sunday evening and realized just how much work it is to stay focused on the horse. We learned how quickly Dawn and Lacey relax when you do it right and just how much time it takes when your horse has a bit of ADHD like Bo. Wiseman simply had not had this work so it took a few repetitions and then both were amazing! I can't wait to see how much more focus our horses will have and just how content they will be when there is this level of consistency from all of our horse handlers! I love my Weekends, but they are exhausting!
Wow! It's really raining out there! We had to cancel all of our classes today :(
If we had a covered arena, we would be able to carry on and provide a continuity of services for our clients! Jozy gains more balance and confidence each time she rides and Jacob just learned how to walk at the age of 4. He is gaining core strength and balance each time he rides. It's important that they RIDE every week! CeCe, Jonathon, and Emma are learning how to be better leaders and how to communicate thanks to their horses, Dawn, Rocky, Bo. They need consistency in their lives. Canceling is not in their best interests! That's why we are going to try to Raise the Roof! Stay tuned to hear more about our fundraiser that will be on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 6th, and please help out any way you can! I am so excited to welcome Jamie Southard to the board as secretary! She works at Dell and is a project manager. Jamie is planning on trying to get me organized (ha) to help set up time lines to get Healing with Horses Ranch ready to become a PATH Intl premier center and will help with event planning to make sure that we stay on track.
Morgan Courage is going to help get all of the policies written. Lori Martin Seeds is working on programs and efficiency of notes and evaluations! With all of this new help and knowledge plus John and Tim's expertise we will go far! We, are always looking for a few good men or women to join this fabulous team and we still have the VP and treasurer positions open! |
