The end of year one ends and year 2 of Healing with horses Ranch begins!
What a ride! It has been a year of change, learning, and patience building skills, and friend making!
I am so excited for 2012 as a year of new firsts! Our first volunteer training, our first classes, our first annual campaign, our first Open House, our first Gala (of some sort), our first volunteer Appreciation Celebration, ....
As the year ends with a beautiful sunny day of 70 degrees, we were able to start projects that will be finished next year (tomorrow). Bill and Derek started the first shelter for the horses. John, Taylor, Jordan and I got the water pipes seated in the sand filled trenches to finish installing plumping. Lisa started splitting logs (silly woman) though I promise you that I don't think that job will be done for many years! Lisa and I also got the "tack room" organized and the tack labeled to get ready for training next weekend!
I'm excited to walk the horses across the creek crossing to get them used to the fields on the other side of the creek tomorrow. It will be a great start to the new year! I hope to start fixing the round pen and maybe going on a little trail ride. I am so thankful for the wonderful weather, but it sure is making me tired!
I hope everyone stays safe tonight, and I pray that everyone has a safe, enriching, uplifting New Year!Don't forget to "pay it forward" and give to those who have less than you! Volunteer! (I happen to know of an amazing new nonprofit that will need any time, talent, and resources you can spare. Hint, hint, hint! :) )
HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS and FAMILY of Healing with Horses Ranch!
