Joel is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning (ESMHL) who joined the herd in 2022. One of his first horse riding experiences ended in an all out gallop to the barn after a nice calm trail ride at the age of 6. His appetite for thrills and horses has not diminished since. He has been working in the trauma therapy, addiction, and emotion regulation field for 18 years in inpatient psychiatric, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care.

Joel’s passion is assisting clients in learning how to be in the moment in their own bodies, while experiencing their own emotions, thoughts, and power. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his wife and 3 adult children, as well as playing soccer, fly-fishing, and reading.
