Marleen Beukers
Marleen embarked on a life-changing adventure by moving from the Netherlands to Texas in 2023 due to her husband’s job. The transition wasn’t just about adjusting to the Texas weather but also embracing an entirely new chapter filled with unexpected opportunities. While Marleen considers herself adventurous and open to new ideas, moving to Texas was never something she had imagined in her wildest dreams. Leaving behind family, friends, and colleagues was challenging, but it paved the way for transformative experiences, particularly her work with horses.
Marleen developed a love for horses at a young age, but a childhood fall left her afraid to ride, and she never got back on. Despite this, she always felt a deep connection to horses and a desire to overcome her fear. After 36 years, she finally took action, and within one day of volunteering at Healing with Horses Ranch, her fear vanished. Working with the Ranch’s kind horses & supportive community has brought profound meaning to her life, and she has fully embraced her new path.
Marleen now thrives in the Ranch’s outdoor environment, surrounded by horses, clients, and a loving team of people, learning something new every day. She earned her Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning (ESMHL) certification in 2024. In addition to her role at the Ranch, she is a Certified Energetic Therapist, herbalist, and natural healer. Marleen uses her expertise in energy work and the Masterson Method to help horses regulate their energy and address physical & mental challenges. Marleen also plays an active role in the Ranch’s weekly "hoof spa," where she enjoys caring for the herd. She’s particularly excited to begin creating homemade hoof oil and other natural remedies to support the horses and help the Ranch save money.
