Our goal is to set the standard equine-assisted services and share the power of this therapeutic modality through community events, instructor training programs, and continued professional development. Please join us for one of our community workshops, webinars, or training opportunities to learn about the healing power of the horse.
At Healing with Horses Ranch, we offer dynamic Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) workshops designed to strengthen teams, develop leadership, and build meaningful communication skills through guided interaction with our horses.
Our EAL workshops are ideal for: corporate teams, non-profit staff, educators & school groups, healthcare providers, community organizations, and more.

Join Healing with Horses Ranch staff for an engaging, experiential presentation exploring how emotional regulation & awareness deepen relationships. Participants in this CEU will learn how polyvagal theory & equine behavior intersect. Joel Wyrtzen, LPC, ESMHL, will share his expertise in how both humans & horses shift between five key emotional-neural states: Novelty, Safety, Reward, Threat, and Overwhelm.
Participants will:
- Learn to recognize subtle emotional & physiological cues.
- Explore how the nervous system regulates emotion & connection.
- Practice self-awareness & “self-cueing” strategies to foster calm, focus, and authentic engagement.
- Experience exercises that build safety, trust, and communication with equine partners.
This training includes live horse interactions, group exercises, and debriefs to encourage integration of emotional regulation techniques into your career & beyond.

This hands-on workshop is designed for parents of youth & teens who want to strengthen connection, reduce power struggles, and set clear boundaries without yelling or shutdowns.
Guided by a licensed therapist & equine specialist, participants will explore nervous system regulation, co-regulation, attachment, and the difference between calm leadership & control. This small-group experience blends psychoeducation with experiential work alongside our herd.
Healing with Horses Ranch offers an instructor-in-training program to individuals looking to become a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI). Under supervision by founder & advanced CTRI, Patty D’Andrea, our trainees receive mentorship, hands-on learning, and coaching through the certification process. Please note that this process is different from our intensive workshop.
