Equine-Assisted Learning Workshops
At Healing with Horses Ranch, we offer dynamic Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) workshops designed to strengthen teams, develop leadership, and build meaningful communication skills through guided interaction with our horses.

Understanding Big, Baffling Behavior; A Nervous System-Informed Approach for Parents

Healing with Horses Ranch is hosting a virtual parent workshop designed to provide an introduction to understanding children’s behavior through a nervous system lens, drawing from the work of Robyn Gobbel, including concepts presented in Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors (her book) & her parent education curriculum.
Intensive Therapeutic Riding Instructor Workshop
Saturday, July 18th to Sunday, July 19th, 2026
If you have experience with horses, you can become a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI). The official process though PATH typically takes over a year, but thanks to our founder, Patty D’Andrea, we are offering an opportunity to expedite this process.
This workshop will equip aspiring CTRIs with the skills to teach riding & horsemanship skills to individuals living with physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges.
Spend a weekend learning how to perform rider assessments, lesson planning, adaptive teaching strategies, and safe mounting & dismounting techniques.
Equine Specialist Workshop & Testing
Friday, September 25th to Sunday, September 27th, 2026
Looking to become certified as an ESMHL? Healing with Horses Ranch is an official PATH International host site for Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning workshops & testing.
An ESMHL ensures the well-being of the equine participating in an equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) session. The ESMHL serves as the equine expert during these interactions alongside a licensed mental health professional such as an LPC or LCSW as they deliver services within the scope of their profession.

Interested in Becoming a PATH Certified Instructor?
Healing with Horses Ranch offers an instructor-in-training program to individuals looking to become a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI), whether they seek employment at Healing with Horses Ranch or elsewhere. Under supervision & guidance by our founder, Patty D’Andrea, Advanced CTRI, trainees will receive direct mentorship, hands-on learning, and individualized coaching through the student teaching hour requirements & certification process. Please note that this process involves about a year of commitment, a fee for the service, and differs from our intensive workshop offering.
