Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association® Donates $10,000 to Replace Stolen Counseling Trailer at Healing with Horses Ranch

May 29, 2025

After the theft of a newly refurbished RV trailer this spring, Healing with Horses Ranch has received a powerful show of support. The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association® TX 23-7 “Capital of Texas” chapter has donated $10,000 to help replace the stolen trailer, which was intended to serve as a temporary private counseling space for the Ranch’s growing mental health services.

The original trailer was purchased in October 2024 and had just been fully remodeled by Ranch staff and volunteers. They put in hundreds of hours, ripping out the interior, laying new flooring, repairing leaks, installing fixtures, and customizing it to create a climate-controlled space for counselors and clients. The trailer was parked in Candland Field alongside the Ranch’s dedicated counseling horses, with power scheduled to be turned on the very next morning. It hadn’t even been used yet.

Someone used bolt cutters to breach the gates that open up to Highway 973 and hauled the trailer off the property. Ranch staff found the broken links and part of a tail light. The three horses in the field were left exposed and vulnerable. Thankfully, they were unharmed.

“CVMA has always lived their motto, ‘Vets Helping Vets,’ and this gift just proves it again. They heard what we lost and immediately took action,” said Patty D’Andrea, Founder of Healing with Horses Ranch.

The CVMA TX 23-7 chapter has supported Healing with Horses Ranch’s Veterans Program for over three years. Their latest gift makes it possible to move forward and begin the process of securing a new trailer to replace what was taken.
