One Step at a Time

Follow the steps to get started with our equine therapy groups. Our small groups are in-person, designed to inspire connection, and guided by a licensed clinician & PATH Intl. Certified Equine Specialist. Yes, you can be on the waitlist for regular services at the same time!

Our equine therapy groups combine peer connection and horse partnership to support self-worth, relational skills, and authentic growth, one step at a time.

Fall 2025 Sessions

Spots are limited & filling up quickly! Registration closes September 30th.

Adult group for individuals who were assigned female at birth and/or identify as women: Tuesdays from 5:30–7pm starting October 7th and will run for 10 weeks.

Teen group for ages 13–18 who were assigned female at birth and/or identify as girls: Saturdays from 10–11:30am starting October 11th and will run for 10 weeks.

Fill out the interest form, and we will reach out to help you schedule your intake session & determine group fit.

Please note: We plan to continue offering groups like this for different communities. If you have suggestions or want to see a group for a specific population, send us a message.

Details

Group sessions occur weekly for 10 weeks
Groups consist of 6–8 members
Objectives: Build self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and authentic connections with peers & horses
Activities, reflection, and skills practice

Procedures & Fees

Total cost: $800; each 90-minute session is $80 (even if you have to miss a session)
Fees are due monthly
Groups are closed to new members once started, unless otherwise noted
We ask for consistent attendance to support both personal progress & group interconnectivity.

Intake & Ranch Tour

We will schedule a brief virtual intake to explore personal goals, answer questions, and determine whether this group is the right fit. This meeting will also orient you to the group process & prepare you for the first session.

Families also have the option to schedule a separate Ranch tour to get familiar with the space, meet the horses, and build comfort before the group begins.

Commitment

Once it’s decided that the group is a good fit, participants will complete necessary paperwork, payment details, and a brief self-assessment before the first session.

Self-assessments are completed before & after the group to help track growth, strengthen our programs, and support future grant opportunities (our ability to provide scholarships for these groups in the future).

Continuity of Care

At the end of our 10 weeks together, we will always explore next steps, whether that’s joining another round, continuing with individual therapy, or exploring other offerings at the Ranch.

Meet Our Herd

Healing with Horses Ranch is a PATH International Premier Riding Center. Our instructors & equine specialists, all of whom are PATH certified, believe deeply in the transformative power of the horse-human connection, and the ability for individuals from all backgrounds to improve their emotional, cognitive, and physical abilities.

A central part of our team is, of course, the horses – our true teachers. We partner with a variety of breeds, shapes, and personalities of horses to meet the needs of our riders. Every member of our herd is part of the family for life. In 2025, we became an equine sanctuary, which means each horse will live out their days here, whether or not they’re actively involved in programs. While we are not a rescue, once an equine is here, they can rest assured that this is their forever home.

A Standard of Excellence

Healing with Horses Ranch is a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) International center that provides evidence-based, trauma-informed services led by certified professionals. PATH certifies & accredits centers, instructors, and equine specialists based on field-tested standards to ensure safety, ethics, and effectiveness in the equine-assisted services industry. To become certified, instructors must complete workshops, fulfill student teaching requirements, and pass both written & practical exams.

Founded in 2011 as a PATH-compliant center, we underwent a voluntary peer review in 2018 and successfully met the accreditation requirements to become a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center. This designation allows us to be recognized in the community for upholding PATH’s highest standards & enables us to train other centers.
