Donate Your Horse, Donkey, Or Mule To Healing With Horses Ranch
It takes a very special horse, donkey, or mule to be willing to partner with our team! The equines that partner with us at Healing with Horses Ranch must go through an extensive evaluation and training process to join the team. Unfortunately, not every equine is ready or willing to work in equine therapy.
Every member of our herd is part of the family for life. In 2025, we became an equine sanctuary, which means each horse will live out their days here, whether or not they’re actively involved in programs. While we are not a rescue, once an equine is here, they can rest assured that this is their forever home.
To donate an equine to Healing with Horses Ranch:
- The donor must first complete the Equine Trial Questionnaire.
- Healing with Horses Ranch will review the Equine Trial Questionnaire and contact the donor about potential next steps.
- If Healing with Horses Ranch determines that the equine is a candidate for equine therapy, we will schedule an off-site evaluation at your property, boarding facility, or stable.
- If the equine candidate performs well durning our off-site evaluation, we will take the equine candidate in for a 30 or 60 day in-house trial.
- If the equine shows appropriate, suitable behavior for work in equine therapy after the trial period, Healing with Horses Ranch will take over ownership.

This means that your gift to Healing with Horses Ranch could do even more to help build independence and resilience in people with disabilities, at-risk youth, and veterans!
