Heroes Trail Run & Ruck 5K
November 8th, 2025 at Healing with Horses Ranch
This inaugural race will take place along our 47 acres of natural Texas landscape at Healing with Horses Ranch, located along Gilliland Creek on the eastern-most edge of Austin’s District 1. The 5K course weaves through a mix of terrain. Participants will encounter a variety of natural surfaces, shaded tree-lined paths, open stretches, and light elevation changes. Our land is part of a designated Community Tree Priority Area by the City of Austin which serves as a protected refuge for wildlife, native plants, and pollinators. As development continues around us, we are proud to preserve & share this space with the community.
Race participants will be capped at 200. Chipped timing provided by Run Texas Timing Services, and will also include live results, finisher photo options, and finisher certificates.

Meet Our Herd
Healing with Horses Ranch is a PATH International Premier Riding Center. Our instructors & equine specialists, all of whom are PATH certified, believe deeply in the transformative power of the horse-human connection, and the ability for individuals from all backgrounds to improve their emotional, cognitive, and physical abilities.
A central part of our team is, of course, the horses – our true teachers. We partner with a variety of breeds, shapes, and personalities of horses to meet the needs of our riders. Every member of our herd is part of the family for life. In 2025, we became an equine sanctuary, which means each horse will live out their days here, whether or not they’re actively involved in programs. While we are not a rescue, once an equine is here, they can rest assured that this is their forever home.
